Oil Pastels and Print Elements with Jen Hamilton

During this workshop Jen will talk about her series of oil pastel drawings and have participants take part in colourful compositions using oil pastel and stenciling. Blending and textural techniques will be explored as well as colour as a thematic event.
About the artist
Jen Hamilton is a Visual Artist living and working in London Ontario. She holds a BFA from NSCAD University, Fine Art Advanced Diploma from Fanshawe College and a Specials Certificate from Bealart. An award-winning printmaker, Jen’s practice encompasses interdisciplinary modes. Working in printmaking, painting, drawing and sculpture she explores themes of motherhood, genetic memory, stress and the unconscious. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally including most recently in Cadaqués, Spain as well as at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, CT. Professionally she has served as President of Forest City Gallery, was an Artist in Residence for The London Arts Council, and is currently the Community Engagement Coordinator for London’s printmaking collective Print London. Her work can be found in private and public collections across Canada and internationally.
