Sharon Barr has a natural sense of contemporary design that informs the colour and composition of the emotionally charged, energetic paintings she creates. Dreams of My Garden, Sharon's 2016 solo exhibition at Westland Gallery, features the most recent of Sharon's large scale, nature inspired abstracts. Sharon's work celebrates the organic forms of plant life and the spirit she finds embodies every living thing. Her luxurious colour, expressive brushwork and infectiously optimistic subject matter create pieces that serve as the perfect focal piece in today's homes. One collector shared with us how Sharon Barr's work served as the inspiration for her home's decor. "When I was in the midst of designing our home I was walking by a Toronto gallery on a cold Snowy day and noticed a work of Sharon's in the window. I immediately walked in and bought the piece, and it became the corner stone of my design direction for the home. What I fell in love with was the organic feeling to the work which was a perfect complement to the modern and beachy vibe of the interior."
