My love of nature, which is evident in my work, was fostered by my parents. My father worked outdoors and his observations of the natural world often kept us entertained at the family dinner table. My mother kept a garden and I believe that my love of colour, shape and design was born there. My preferred medium is watercolour, although i also work in oils, graphite, pen and ink and acrylic.
I love to paint and draw on location, almost always in my sketchbook. My purpose on location is to gather ideas and information, to get to know a subject or place through sketching, to learn things I can then play with and apply in my studio.
