"Growing up in Ontario, Canada, Jen Wilson always had an eye for the arts and she loved to make things with her hands. She tried all kinds of art mediums until she picked up a camera and fell in love with creative photography.
After receiving her BA from Brooks Institute of Photography in 1994, she started documenting the graffiti scene in Toronto. By 2001 she was being interviewed on TV for her graffiti photo show in Toronto's Contact photography festival, and was published in several magazines including the 2001 Christmas edition of Adbusters.
In 2004, Jen started drawing designs with markers and pens on pictures of people in magazines. Her imagery was inspired by the graffiti she saw and also her love of spiritual psychedelic artwork. In 2010, after moving to London, Ontario, she began using embroidery to stitch into the face which was fused onto cotton interfacing using a t-shirt iron-on. She is currently showing her embroidery work at galleries in Canada and the USA."
