In this exhibition, each artist chose the work to exhibit, culminating in artworks that bridge the divide between high-realism, expressionism and abstraction. By bringing together diverse techniques, materials and methods, this exhibition exemplifies the varied and personal connections we have with the urban and natural world.
Living in one of the most creative cities in southern Ontario, Londoners are surrounded by artistic inspiration wherever they turn. Whether this creativity is derived from the natural landscape, surrounding the city, or the cityscape itself, artists are responding to the vast diversity of city life. In this exhibition, instead of choosing the work for the show, we left it up to the artists. Some artists you may recognize, but there are also some new faces. The result is an eclectic mix of mediums and techniques that is sure to challenge and delight the viewer. Participating artists; Agneta Dolman, Angela Lorenzen, Catherine Morrisey, Corrine Garlick, Danielle Hoevenaars, Donna Andreychuk, Jamie Jardine, kerry ferris, Kim Douglas Harrison, Michael Durham, Peter Karas, Susan E. Tanton, Ted Goodden, Tom Hilborn, and Troy David Ouellette.
