Westland Gallery’s upcoming exhibition, “1+1=ONE”, features the work of four London artists: Bijan Ghalehpardaz, Brian Dirks, Eric Sytler and Radek Vizina. These artists comprise a recently formed collective in London Ontario, “Artists Reintegrating Art” or Ar-iA. In our modern world, which often seeks to compartmentalize and categorize Ar-iA strives to paint free of expectation and as a means to convey ideas. Each artist of tackles this challenge in a different way. Though all four artists work in a representational manner, they confront different issues and work in different painterly styles. This is the first time the members of Artists Reintegrating Art are presenting their work together.
Bijan Ghalehpardaz is a Kurdish-Canadian artist. Bijan holds an Art Diploma Kurdistan, BFA from the University of Tehran, Art Diploma from Fanshawe College, BFA from Western University and an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Brian Dirks: Brian works with his materials, allowing them to inform him as the composition evolves. For Brian Dirks, his collection is about “…applying realistic expectations to materials and tactile nature…” – Brian Dirks
Eric Styler has studied at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto. He aims to capture unique moments with a logical concept and a visceral feeling. He loves nature and life in general, so it's what he seeks to represent.
